Session Description: This session will give an updated overview about recent innovations and future directions in vaccine development for infectious diseases. Three vaccine experts will focus on 1) RNA vaccines, 2) Universal vaccines, and 3) extended half-life monoclonal antibodies.

Learning Objectives:

To describe the history of RNA vaccines and the breakthrough in their use during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will also learn the science and regulations behind developing, optimizing, and updating RNA vaccines, their safety monitoring systems, and future promises.
To describe the history of influenza universal vaccines, their past challenges, and present breakthroughs. Participants will also learn about the current progress in the influenza universal vaccines clinical trials and the use of mRNA to develop a universal vaccine.
To describe the challenges in the development of RSV vaccines and the current advances in the development of extended half-life monoclonal antibodies for passive immunization.
