Session Description: One of the many aspects of the post-COVID laboratory is the influx of medical technologists that are now eligible for molecular diagnostics certification. Maximizing on this new employee pool has challenges of it's own. While encouraging this new applicant pool, training in hands-on molecular techniques is as crucial as the knowledge required to pass the certification exam. Internal lab-implemented and run training and education programs are excellent avenues for increasing the workforce while ensuring laboratory integrity is maintained.
