Associate R&D Scientist
Quest Diagnostics
Jacob Yo is an associate R&D scientist in the Hematology/Oncology Department at Quest Diagnostics. His work focuses on assay development involving quantitative RT-PCR, digital PCR, next generation sequencing, and other molecular diagnostic techniques. Previously, he worked as associate scientist in a private molecular diagnostics startup and as a medical laboratory scientist in the Division of Molecular Diagnostics at The University of Texas Medical Branch.
Jacob received his bachelor’s degrees in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin and in Molecular Genetic Technology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center School of Health Professions. Furthermore, he completed his clinical training with laboratory rotations at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Integrated Diagnostics and later obtained a Master of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology and Genetics from the Drexel University College of Medicine. He currently holds a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist licence from the state of California and is a certified Technologist in Molecular Biology by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
