Patricia Caffes received a double major in Biology and Chemistry from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. She currently is a Senior Developer in the Laboratory of Genetics and Genomics at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. As a developer, Patricia has worked on design and implementation of several clinical solid tumor tests, including: PIK3CA, EGFR mutation and gene fusion detection assays. Patricia has worked at Mayo Clinic for 26 years. Her previous experience there included peptide synthesis, mass spectrometry and allergic disease and amyloidosis research. Previously, Patricia worked at Amgen in Boulder, Colorado as part of the team identifying the Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist and its crystal structure.
