Genomic Scientist
Molecular Genetic Pathology Regional Laboratory, SCPMG Regional Reference Laboratories, Kaiser Permanente
My name is Hsiao Wei (Annice) Chen, MS, MB (ASCP), and I am a Genomic Scientist at Molecular Genetic Pathology Regional Laboratory at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. Before Kaiser Permanente, I was a Molecular Clinical Variant Curator at City of Hope, and prior to City of Hope, I was a Genomic Data and Scientific Content Curator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center In New York. I went to North Carolina State University for my PhD pursuit in Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics. Unfortunately, due to loss of research funding, I graduated with a master’s degree after four-year study. My wet-lab and dry-lab research/clinical work experiences equip me with broad domain knowledge in Molecular Genetics and Cancer Pathology. I have passionate interest in studying the relationships between variants and phenotypes/diseases.
