Andrew Gentles is an assistant professor in the Departments of Pathology, Medicine, and Biomedical Data Science. He originally did his PhD in theoretical particle physics, followed by postdoctoral work in evolutionary genetics at Queens Medical Center, University of Nottingham. His group develops and uses computational systems biology approaches to study cancer and neurodegenerative disase. Most recently this has been as part of NCI’s Cancer Systems Biology Consortium. They are particularly interested in how the composition and cellular organization of tumors influences responses to therapy, and how modulating these might improve outcomes for patients.
