Reece Hart is a computational biologist, software engineer, and startup veteran. He's currently the chief technology officer of MyOme, Inc, a San Francisco-area startup that aims to provide clinically actionable genomic information to people throughout their lives. He previously was the CTO of Genome Medical, among the first hires at Invitae, and a scientist and manager of research computing at Genentech. He is a member of the HUGO Sequence Variant Description Working Group that oversees the HGVS Nomenclature, past chair of the GA4GH Variation Representation group and author of the Variation Representation Schema, and the founder of biocommons.org, a community that builds open source tools for manipulating variants and transcripts. Reece earned his doctorate in biophysics and masters in computer science from Washington University.
