David Basta, MD, PhD is a clinical pathology resident and intercalating molecular genetic pathology fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. He completed his BS in Biology at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, followed by an MD at the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California and a PhD at the California Institute of Technology. During graduate school he used functional genomic and genetic approaches to study the role of heat-shock proteases in bacterial pathogens under energy limitation. His current research interests include synthetic and systems biology approaches for the development of novel therapeutics in cancer.
