Jing Di, MD/PhD, is currently a PGY2 pathology resident at the University of Kentucky Health Center. She obtained a MD from Jinzhou Medical University in China, obtained a PhD in Human anatomy and histology from China Medical University and worked on Alzheimer’s and related diseases drug development as a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA and CUNY. As an unconventional pathology resident, she tries to apply her research and teaching experiences to better serve the pathology community and has just been appointed as a junior member of the biorepository accreditation program committee at the College of American Pathologists (CAP). She is dedicated, responsible and good at what she is doing. Since PGY1, she has been actively involved in several cytogenetics and molecular projects led by attendings of the molecular division in the department, which led to 2 original publications, 8 posters (AMP, USCAP and CAP), and a Pathologists-in-Training Travel Award from the USCAP foundation. Besides achievements on research, she has received very high evaluations from the attendings on clinical service and achieved the award for highest average score among first-year residents at the University of Kentucky. Outside of work, Jing enjoys oil painting, works on her beautiful rose garden, and plays with her two cats, Mr. Mewmew & Miss Pooper. She is also absolutely a coffeeholic, at least 3 cups per day!
