Asuragen, a bio-techne brand
Julie R. Thibert, MS, is an R&D Scientist at Asuragen, a molecular diagnostics company that develops products in genetics and oncology. She earned her BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona, and her MS from Arizona State in Molecular and Cellular Biology. At Asuragen, a Bio-techne brand, she has focused on the development of novel amplification strategies that can resolve challenging genetic targets by way of capillary electrophoresis and long-read sequencing technology on the Oxford Nanopore platform, extending the company’s core AmplideX® FMR1 PCR technology. Her most recent work has focused on early-stage research targeting clinical RT-qPCR monitoring of ESR1 mutations in plasma that utilizes both exosomal RNA and circulating cell-free DNA by interrogating 11 mutations in a streamlined workflow and accommodating a range of minor allele fractions. Details of that work are shared in poster # ST078.
