Kaylee Scozzaro is a somatic genetic counselor at Invitae Corp and has a bachelors degree in molecular biology and biotechnology and a masters degree in Human Genetics. She obtained her bachelor of science degree in her home county of Canada at the University of Waterloo. She obtained her graduate degree in Human Genetics at Sarah Lawrence College. Upon graduation she spent two years working as a prenatal genetic counselor at New Jersey Perinatal Associates. During this time she became a certified genetic counselor. After this position she spent some time back in Canada as a cancer genetic counselor performing cancer risk assessments. With a newly discovered passion for cancer genetics she moved back to New Jersey and started her role as a lead somatic genetic counselor at BioReference labs. The somatic lab position lead to a transition to working as an inherited cancer laboratory genetic counselor at GeneDx. Kaylee has expertise in somatic genetics as well as hematologic malignancies. She has presented several somatic focused poster presentations at various national conferences as well as an oral presentation at the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) annual conference.
