In her role as Senior Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) at Optum Genomics, Karen Stockl is responsible for conducting observational research studies using administrative claims, electronic health record/medical records, and other data sources.
Dr. Stockl has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and health care industries specializing in health economics and outcomes research, observational and real-world studies, clinical program evaluation, scientific communications, clinical research and development, pharmacy benefits management, and managed care. Prior to joining Optum Genomics, she worked for more than 10 years at UnitedHealth Group in HEOR director roles at Optum Life Sciences and OptumRx. She has also worked in research positions at Greenwich Biosciences, Allergan, Amylin, and IQVIA and as an inpatient clinical pharmacist at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center.
Dr. Stockl received her PharmD degree from the University of Southern California and her Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy and Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Florida. She has authored or co-authored over 50 publications and scientific congress presentations covering a broad variety of therapeutic areas.
