Maria Namwanje, PhD is a Clinical Variant Scientist in the Department of Pathology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She received her PhD in Molecular and Human Genetics from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After graduate school, she completed her postdoctoral training at Columbia University in New York and later at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where her research focused on the genetics of obesity and related metabolism disorders. While at St. Jude, Dr. Namwanje’s work involves evaluation and interpretation of somatic variants in pediatric tumors and validation of new clinical tests.
