Dr. Caughron is President & CEO of MAWD Pathology Group and Director of the MAWD Molecular Lab. Within his practice, Dr. Caughron is privileged to oversee the delivery of state of the art genomic care within a community setting. He currently serves as Chair of AMP’s Economic Affairs Committee, and ex officio on the Board of AMP. In the past he has served on numerous local, regional and national professional committees, boards and advisory panels including for AMP, CAP the AMA and other industry and pharmaceutical partners.
Dr. Caughron received his medical degree and AP/CP training from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and completed a fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Caughron is recognized nationally for his insight and expertise in molecular coding, coverage and reimbursement. He also focuses professionaly on addressing the challenges to translating advanced diagnostics into viable, real-world clinical solutions. He lives in Kansas City with his wife and large family.
