AUGUSTA, Georgia, United States
Pankaj Kumar Ahluwalia, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pathology at Augusta University. His research focuses on the interface of clinical, research, and emerging technologies and their implementation in personalized medicine. At the diagnostic level, he evaluates targeted next-generation sequencing panels for solid tumors. Additionally, his research centers on developing and clinically validating prognostic and predictive gene signatures for cancer. By performing large-scale genomic profiling, he identifies novel molecular subtypes that enable risk stratification in cancer patients. Recently, his work was supported by a Paceline grant to uncover genomic and spatial predictors of immunotherapy response. He also actively investigates immune dynamics in healthcare workers after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination as part of a larger SPARTA study. Beyond his research projects, Dr. Ahluwalia avidly mentors medical students, assisting them in designing and conducting their own studies.
